For many people, stiletto heels probably mean just the high heel on a shoe, like any other heel out there. But believe it or not, there are differences in the kind of heels you see on a shoe.
Stiletto heels are high and have very narrow heels, making it look as though a sharp object like a spike or dagger is protruding from the shoe. The design of stiletto heels was originally meant to make legs appear longer.
While stiletto heels vary in length anywhere from half an inch to six inches or so, they are all thought of as the same, simply as stiletto heels. These heels are now seen on many dancers and other women who use them to make them look more exotic or sexy.
You will see many different varieties of styles when it comes to stiletto heels as well. Some may look business professional while others are meant to look provocative in nature. There is actually a pair of stiletto heels that is appropriate for any occasion. Many women have several pairs of them in their wardrobe.
Stiletto heels were invented in Italy and became very popular in the 1950s. And popularity did not stem only from women, as men wore stiletto heels just as often. At first, the heel was looked at as another way to make someone look taller while adding certain flair to their style. It was very common for men of social stature to wear this type of shoe with their formal outfits.
As time went on, stiletto heels became known more for their erotic nature than for their ability to create an effect of tallness for someone. As a matter of fact, stiletto heels are known as a fetish to some in both a sexual and personal nature. As these heels may be a part of bedroom life for many couples, they can mean a source of power to a woman that wears them.
You can find an abundance of stiletto heels in stores today, and as mentioned before they come in all different kinds of shapes and sizes. It will all depend on what the use of them will be as to which style would be best suited. However there isn’t one particular length or style of stiletto shoes that could not be used for just about any reason you can think of.
The price range for these shoes can get quite expensive, especially for the higher ones but they aren’t shoes that you wear on a daily basis so they are more than likely going to stay preserved for a few years, making every penny you spent on them worth it.
