The days of running to the store to drop off rolls of film has past for many of us. Digital cameras are a must in nearly every home but many of us find that the pictures linger in the camera for way too long. When we do manage to download the pictures on to the computer, we often find that they are disorganized and many of the pictures are never printed at all. Fortunately, there are online photo processing options for owners of digital cameras.
The online photo processing sites offer to develop your photos for pennies. Since you select the pictures that you want to have printed, you have the advantage of knowing the quality of the prints ahead of time. The traditional method of using film that is processed at a photo lab often leaves many amateur photographers with unwanted prints. The online photo processing site will only print the pictures that you select.
This is a great option for those who have digital cameras. However, you can also scan pictures into your computer and have them reprinted or resized. I scanned my favorite wedding picture into my computer and sent it to an online photo processing site. The original picture was an eight-by-ten and I opted to have the site create five-by-seven prints from the original. I was very pleased with the results.
The online photo processing companies will generally suggest that you start with a larger print and downsize if you are going to order prints from scanned photos. I once tried to have a wallet-sized picture enlarged to an eight-by-ten and the results were horrible. The picture was fuzzy and most of the detail was lost. Fortunately, the online photo processing site recommended that I choose a smaller size for the reprints to insure better quality.
There are many online photo processing sites to choose and the prices are very competitive. You can order your prints and have them sent to a store like Wal-Mart or you can have them sent directly to your home. Shipping is usually minimal and pictures are generally delivered at little cost. The prints cost anywhere between nine cents and thirty cents each depending on which online photo processing site you choose.
There are other features to the online photo processing option. You can use your photo to create lovely invitations and holiday cards. Relatives love to receive personal cards that include pictures of loved ones. The online photo processing site can also fix some of the flaws in your pictures for an additional fee. Not all sites offer this service, but it does come in handy for amateur photographers. This is another benefit that makes ordering prints through an online photo processing site the right choice for many photo enthusiasts.
