Online Holdem
First, let me note that I have no affiliation with and therefore no stake in, claim on, or extra benefit from the gaming site where I play online hold em and many other games. I just love the site and swear by its integrity, great offerings, and engaging and fun games. I also appreciate how affordable their membership is, a membership that I have enjoyed for almost three years.
The site I refer to is Pogo.com and the game I specifically address here is the online hold em game, Texas Hold’em Poker. Like other poker, hold’em, ond online hold em games, the object is to play rounds, bet, and, ultimately, be the one with the highest ranking hand at the close of the rounds. At Pogo, if you have the best hand, you win the pot that has all the tokens you and the other players (up to six, total) anted (contributed) throughout the round. In other online hold em games, you can win money and/or prizes, depending upon the circumstances, laws, and amounts you spent to join.
The virtual online holdem at Pogo has you in the seat facing the other players. Each player has an identification box next to their image/avatar, which shows their name, their hand rank, and their stakes (how much money or how many tokens they have while playing the specific online holdem); and also, each player has an action box. When it is his, her, or your turn, the box will reveal what move was decided on—whether it is bet, check, fold, or etc..
The dealer button is showing next to whoever is dealing the hand, and the audio has the dealer announcing the game/hand, noting what is on the table and what the highest possible ranking hand is. The auditory feature is typical of most holdem games, now, and is one I especially like to check out on different online hold em poker games, as the designers of the games come up with some clever voiceovers: some are realistic, calm, and sober. Some are yee-hah friendly, saying things like “Howdy, Pardner.” As well, other sounds include music, audience participation (cheers, etc.), or bells and whistles reporting decline, success, or other progress. As well, the online holdem version at Pogo has the neatest visuals. I play with robots (optional), so in some cases, my opponents make faces, and I (my avatar) make(s) faces: we grimace, frown, or scowl; we grin, beam, or get red faced with anger or joy.
I don’t do so badly, although I rarely do super well at Texas Hold’em Poker. But I have fun with this and many other games I play faithfully…such as Qwerty, Mahjong Garden, and Payday Free Cell. Whichever game you choose, I hope for you the success or fun you want or need, as well.
