A daily vitamin supplement can be very beneficial in maintaining optimum health. Although when most people think of vitamins they automatically envision the daily capsules. However you can take a liquid multi vitamin and enjoy the exact same results.
A liquid multi vitamin is exactly as it sounds. It is a supplement that is taken in a liquid form as opposed to a capsule or chewable form. A liquid multi vitamin is always given to infants, but they aren’t the only ones who can take their daily supplement in this form.
When you go to the health food store or pharmacy to choose a daily multi vitamin you will find yourself staring at a whole host of choices. Many companies manufacture the traditional type of multi vitamin tablets or capsules. These are designed to be taken orally either by chewing or swallowing.
The majority of people can remember actually enjoying taking their multi vitamin as a child because the taste was very similar to candy. The chewable tablets would almost always leave an unpleasant after taste in the mouth though. With a liquid multi vitamin this is rarely the case.
A liquid multi vitamin for an infant or a child usually comes in several different flavors. These flavors are specially designed to be particularly appealing to children. Cherry, grape and orange are three popular flavors in a liquid multi vitamin supplement for a child.
As tempting as it may be for an adult to take a children’s liquid multi vitamin it won’t be nearly as beneficial as taking an adult version. Children’s vitamins are made for children’s growing bodies. Adults have different nutritional needs than children and those needs should be considered when purchasing a dietary supplement.
Dosage is also very important when you are using a liquid multi vitamin. The vitamin will be absorbed quickly into your body and therefore you should follow the instructions on the package concerning when the supplement should be taken. Some companies suggest taking the liquid multi vitamin on an empty stomach while others recommend taking it with a meal. Read the package directions for the supplement that you’ve chosen.
Whenever you are considering a vitamin supplement it’s wise to consult with your doctor or a pharmacist. They have insight into what supplements are best and if a liquid multi vitamin is the right choice for you. Although a liquid multi vitamin is a good idea when it comes to maintaining good health, it’s just one part of a healthy lifestyle. Diet and exercise are crucial as well.
