Legend Of The Seas
When we think about going on a cruise, we usually picture a clear, blue sky, crystal clear waters and white, sandy beaches. Snow doesn’t come into the picture. However, my husband and I are considering introducing snow into the image of a vacation on the ocean through the famous ship, Legend of the Seas
This massive ship made its aquatic debut in 1995 and it has lived up to its name over the past eleven years. Legend of the Seas offers cabins equipped to house 1,800 travelers and it offers entertainment diverse enough to please each and every person. The boat is an island in itself, with every amenity that an entire city would present to its tourists.
We found the Legend of the Seas appealing not only because of the entertainment, comfort and amenities but because of its diverse destinations. Alaska tops the list of interesting places to take a cruise. I think that the appeal of this unusual destination on the Legend of the Seas is the sense of adventure. The northern sights are magnificent and the crisp air makes the entire journey feel like Christmas on the high seas.
Many would turn their noses up at the idea of taking a cruise with a frigid destination and this was another factor that my husband and I considered. Many people flock to warmer climates during vacation time. The Legend of the Seas sets out for the Bahamas and people clamor to get a spot on the popular ship. Choosing an unusual place like Alaska increases our chances of being able to secure a larger cabin at a more reasonable rate. There is less chance of a waiting list as well.
Neither my husband nor I are very interested in sunbathing. I have red hair and I tend to burn, peel and freckle. Vacationing in very warm climates has wreaked havoc on my skin, leaving me sunburned and uncomfortable. I like the idea of wearing my bathing suit indoors so I don’t have to worry about burning. The beauty of the Legend of the Seas is that it offers swimming indoors for those of us who love to swim but hate the sun.
Even if swimming is not your thing, the ship is comprised of eleven fun-filled decks that offer an array of interesting things to do and there are over seven-hundred crew members who can help you decide on which activity to choose. If you are looking for an unusual vacation that you are sure to remember, consider taking the Legend of the Seas to Alaska.
