Many of wonder just what it would be like working behind the scenes of an epic film or our favorite television show. College students from participating schools can apply for semester-long internships on such shows as The Tonight Show and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. College credit is earned as a field experience by working three days per week for the length of the semester on the set. Though students are not paid for their time, they are usually reimbursed for their travel expenses to and from the studio. This entertainment industry job also opens a number of doors, and provides an excellent learning experience that also earns college credit. Some internships offer hourly compensation depending on the duties defined in the agreement, which is more similar to regular employment but is for a pre-determined period of time. At the end of the internship the student will be evaluated and possibly offered a full time position.
