From the day we're born, our parents typically begin the memory process. Since no one can be sure that some won't be lost, photos are taken to capture great moments. This simply seems to be a ritual of our species. We want to remember that first time our child stands up, or writes a word. These moments are incomparable. Therefore we typically record them with pictures or video cameras. This way we can always go back and enjoy that experience one more time. As a parent myself, I can honestly say that it is imperative to create a photo album of your family as it grows.
When my wife and I had a child, my first thought was to take a picture. I needed to capture the moment. How else would I ever get it back? Well, the truth is, you can never truly have the moment back, unless you have a time machine, but you can reminisce on a picture. We decided to create a photo album that first day. Now, seven years down the road, I have about ten of them. You can never have too many pictures of your family and the life you share. These things are literally priceless. In more recent years, it has become viable to create a photo album online. Our computers now do much of the work. With the technology of digital cameras, we no longer have to be burdened with getting our film developed. These days it's all about the gigabytes. You take pictures on you Cannon Powershot, and simply stick them onto your computer via a USB port. It's that easy. This is a rather choice form of technology. You can save your pics on your hard drive forever, then print them out whenever you please. How cool is that? The best part is the convenience. Anyone of your relatives or friends can acquire photos through email. It takes two minutes to email some pictures.
If you dabble with the Internet, you may have noticed that you can get free web space. Unlike the tangible world, cyberspace is free. You can easily create a photo album for any and all to view. This way your pics can be accessed by whomever you please at any time. Now this is much simpler and more convenient than the old-school method of photo albums. Since photo albums are such a crucial part of our preservation of memories, it is never too early to get started on preserving your life.
