Coin Purse
In all of my years as a tote-carrying female who is deeply in love with handbags, I never really thought that I had a need for a coin purse. Recently, I’ve been trying to save a little money here and there. One of my friends recommended that I use a coin purse when I shop to insure that I use exact change. She suggested that once you break a large bill, it is gone.
I could completely understand the reasoning behind her advice. Once you break a twenty, it literally dissolves into thin air. The best way to keep from spending too much is to use up your small bills and change first. You are less likely to break a twenty for a two dollar trinket. A coin purse helps you get the correct change as quickly as possible when you are in the checkout line.
One of the reasons I tended to use larger bills when shopping was to save time. Nothing is more aggravating than standing behind a person who is digging through her pockets and handbag for small bills and change. I have seen organized individuals who keep their coins and small bills in a coin purse move through the check out line in no time at all. They don’t even have to wait for the cashier to count return change. Using a system that organizes your money is very helpful in moving things along.
I used to think that saving coins was a good way to collect money, but it just does not work out that way. The coins wind up in the depths of my car seat or thrown in various places around my house. By the time I collect enough coins to make it worth a trip to the bank; the value of the dollar has dropped. Keeping my spare change in a coin purse will help me manage my small spending sprees. Once the change is gone, the shopping is done.
Now the only obstacle I have to face is choosing the appropriate coin purse for my shopping excursions. There are a lot of options and there are even crafts that revolve around making a coin purse. Many of these little containers are very decorative and extremely attractive. Along with that, they are a little pricy. Some of the high-end coin purses cost a few hundred dollars. I guess that sometimes you have to spend money to save money.
