Acne spreads through bacteria and the belief is that if the bacteria are kept under control than the acne will be contained and can be treated.
One tip to remember while you are searching for the best acne treatment is to keep your hands away from the area. It’s tempting to want to pick at the acne spots and young people are more prone to this than adults.
When you do this, you are only spreading the bacteria and risking an infection. It’s not uncommon for an infection to develop in the area that the acne is present. So the best rule of thumb is to look but don’t touch.
