Bedside Table
When you retire to bed each night it’s very convenient to have a place to rest a glass of water on, or your clock radio. A bedside table is ideal for this purpose, plus it adds some character to your boudoir.
Many times people read just before going to bed and instead of getting up to place their book on a shelf or tossing it on the floor, they place it conveniently on the bedside table. It is right next to the bed so you can flip off the light as well as put your book down when you are ready to fall asleep. If you can’t sleep it is convenient to have a little table right next to the bed so you do not have to get up to read or turn on the light.
Watching television in bed has become commonplace for many people and we all know how easy it is to lose the remote control. If you put it on your bedside table you’ll never again have to send out a search party to find it. For some items it is vital to have a bedside table such as eye glasses and medicine. Some styles also have drawers in them as well to hold all of these things and more.
A phone and an alarm clock should really be placed near the bed. Putting your alarm clock on the bedside table will ensure you that when it goes off you will hear it and you won’t have to go far to turn it off to go back to sleep. A phone is a convenient thing to have as it can wake you up if you are sleeping and a call comes or if you just want to relax and talk on the phone while lying down. For elderly people who live alone having the phone close to them on the bedside table, is vital in case they do have a medical emergency during the night.
The style that you choose for this small piece of furniture is normally based on the décor of the bedroom. You can buy a bedside table for each side of the bed as many are sold in pairs. A bedside table can also be purchased to match the bed. It can be made of the same wood that the other furniture and bed is made up making the furniture match and look nice as many bedroom sets are sold with matching pieces.
Whether it’s for style or convenience having a table near your bed is a great idea. You can purchase them easily at a local furniture store or online. They certainly help to hold all of your night time essentials so you will near again be wandering around in the dark.
