Having a beautiful bay window in your home not only affords you more sunlight during the day but it provides a wonderful focal point as well. A bay window is regal and commanding and can entirely change the look of a home.

When you start shopping for a bay window treatment it’s wise to give some thought to whether or not you are happy with the color of the room. You may decide on a bay window treatment that is very simple. This can be window blinds for instance. Some people opt to place a window blind in each of the bay windows. This type of bay window treatment has one purpose and that is privacy. You can spice it up a bit by choosing a fabric blind or a contrasting color blind.
Perhaps a simple choice in fabric is in order. A bay window treatment that consists of a valance is the preference of quite a lot of people. This consists of a piece of fabric that is hung just over the top of the window frames. It can be sheer or made of a more substantial fabric.
If you want something much more dramatic in a bay window treatment you should consider panel drapes. When incorporating drapes into a bay window design you need to have a top panel. This panel covers the length of the top of the bay window. On each side of the windows is a panel drape. These drapes come in numerous different fabric choices.
Another really lovely choice for a bay window treatment is lace. This looks wonderful in a bedroom or dining area. The lace can be white or off-white. One of the advantages to this type of bay window treatment is that although the lace is sheer it does provide a degree of privacy.
This brings us to yet another choice in bay window treatment and that’s the privacy drapes. These drapes are much like panel drapes but come complete with a privacy panel that is sewn directly into the back of the drape. When these drapes are closed, the homeowners can be assured that they have complete privacy.
You can choose whatever type of bay window treatment you desire. The main focus will still be on the window and highlighting that is really your main goal.
