Bamboo Earrings
There are many things that should be considered when making bamboo earrings. To make these earrings, you need to have an idea about the tools and findings involved in making jewelry, including bamboo earrings. You should also have in mind about how you want your earrings to look.
Depending on the look you want your bamboo earrings to have, you need certain tools. If all the bamboo pieces you are using are beads, then you should have some jewelry wire or string (the string should be rather strong otherwise it will break easily).
If the holes in the bamboo beads are big enough, a good look is a hemp look. If your bamboo earrings are going to be dangle earrings, then it is a good idea to have fishhook earring pieces rather than post earring pieces.
Some other things that may come in handy are a pair of pliers, scissors, and possibly a wire cutter. It would be easier to make bamboo earrings with beads rather, than un-drilled pieces. Beads are usually easier to work with and also much easier to find.
For your bamboo earrings, it is a good idea to have a few smaller beads (smaller because many bamboo beads are of the bigger variety). If you are making these bamboo earrings for a certain outfit or item of clothing, a colored bead or two will make your earrings pop!
For ideas of what you want, you may want to look at earrings in a store. Even though there may not be a pair of bamboo earrings, there are still good examples of the use of neutral colors mixed with bright colors. If you do not have much experience with jewelry making or beading, you will want to look at the way the earrings in the store are put together so you can guess how to put your own together.
Sometimes you may want the bright color to be more noticeable than the bamboo bead. In that case, you will want to decide just how big you want your earrings to be. Although bamboo is not very heavy once it has been dried, it is very bulky.
The things you will need can be found in many stores. I recommend a craft store with a large beading section or a specialty beading store. At the craft store you may find cheaper materials, but the sales staff may not have any idea how to help you.
At most beading stores, the sales staff must have some sort of experience in beading. If you have questions about what sort of tools to use, or about how to put anything together, then they will be able to help you with your questions. If there is a piece for your bamboo earrings that you cannot find, then the staff at a beading store will be able to locate it for you because they have many connections in the world of beads.
