Many people just get tired of hiding behind their glasses. Soft contact lenses are hydrophilic, which means they are made of water and allow oxygen to pass through to the eye. They are very comfortable compared to the old hard contact lenses, and they allow you to see better than with your glasses because your peripheral vision is not distorted by the frame. Acuvue lenses come in four different types: regular contact lenses for people who are near or farsighted, contact lenses for people with astigmatism to compensate for the irregular shape of the eye, bifocal contact lenses for older people with presbyopia or aging eyes, and colored contact lenses that come in a variety of colors for people who want to change the color of their eyes. You don’t even need to have poor vision for colored Acuvue lenses, they are available for people with 20/20 vision as well.
Acuvue contact lenses are available by prescription only from a licensed eye care provider, and are available with different wearing schedules. There are daily wear disposable lenses that you change out on a daily basis, allowing you to wear a fresh pair every day; regular daily wear lenses that are put in every morning and taken out at night then cleaned and rinsed, and replaced with a new pair every two weeks; and flexible wear lenses that are worn continuously for seven days and six nights then discarded and replaced with a new pair.
As you can see (pun intended), there are many options available with Acuvue contact lenses. According to the company literature, children as young as the age of eight can be taught to use contact lenses correctly, and even babies have been fitted because of certain eye disorders warranting the use of contact lenses. Acuvue lenses are also very affordable and allow you to ditch your glasses and start a collection of stylish sun glasses instead!
